I’m an illustrator, designer, and artist. I’m from the state of Massachusetts, but I now live in the southern Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.
Art-wise, I love graphic shapes, textured colour, printmaking, drawing outdoors, painting. For some reason, my hidden art powers are released when cutting up paper. My design superpower is x-ray vision: if I stare at dense information, I can see its lovely skeleton just waiting to be shown to the world. I think this is why I really love interpretive design (stuff like exhibits and nature trails) and information architecture. Or, it might be because I’m a big nerd. Who can say.
It’s a great joy to work in art and design because I get to collaborate with nice, interesting people to make things I couldn’t make on my own. For work inquiries, or to say hello, contact me at ellen@ellenrooneydesign.
